Arroyo Toad Mitigation Project
Mitigation funding was contributed to the Back Country Land Trust to compensate for the loss of habitat for the federally endangered Southwestern Arroyo
Toad (Bufo californicus) from drilling and spilling operations in East County. Working together with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, BCLT plans to work with local scientists to study distribution models for this species, threats to their existence, and recommendations for encouraging their recovery and/or survival.
